Programme Manager [Re-advertised]

EA seeks to fill two vacant positions: Programme Manager (PM).

Duty station: EA’s Kampala Office (Located in Kabalagala) with frequent travel to EA’s programme areas in the rest of the country.

The PM is responsible for the overall implementation of EA’s community development and policy advocacy programmes, and reports to the Executive Director. S/he is responsible for guiding and supporting the Senior Programme Officers in achieving overall programme objectives. The PM will specifically:
Lead the effective planning, coordination and management of EA’s programmes consistent with the organisation’s strategic plan
Promote the coherent and effective application and implementation of EA’s strategies
Develop and maintain linkages with government and non-governmental institutions and programmes.
Spearhead policy engagement initiatives at national level
Strengthen teamwork within EA structures for effective realisation of programme outcomes.
Lead EA’s engagement in relevant National Networks
Responsible for gender integration into EA’s programmes.
Play an active role in programme development and resource mobilisation.
Requirement:

Essential requirements:
Relevant Masters Degree (agriculture, natural resources, rural development, etc.) is a minimum requirement.
At least 5 years’ experience in development work, with three years successful experience in a senior position in an NGO with demonstrated achievements in implementation of development programmes.
A good understanding of Uganda’s natural resources and agriculture policies and policy process and excellent skills in policy analysis
Strong conceptual ability, excellent writing and communication skills
Experience in monitoring and evaluation
Computer literacy and skills is a MUST
