National
Medical Stores is an autonomous Corporation (hat was established by an
Ac) of Parliament 1993. Our mandate is to procure, store and distribute
medicines and other medical supplies to the public health facilities and
to a lesser extent to the private health facilities as well. Our vision
is " A POPULATION WITH ADEQUATE AND ACCESSIBLE QUALITY MEDICINES AND
MEDICAL SUPPLIES" Our Mission is "To effectively and efficiently supply
essential medicines and Medical Supplies to Public Health Facilities In
Uganda." We are now looking for competent and right persons who possess
appropriate skills, knowledge and right attitude to fill vacant
positions which have arisen as a result of our expanded mandate.

Job Title : Driver/Dispatch Assistant
Reports to : The Driver/Dispatch Assistant reports to Transport and Logistics Assistant.
Purpose of the job:
To ensure that medicines and medical supplies are safely delivered to the health facilities.
Location of the fob: Entebbe
Key Results areas/ Accountabilities
1) To transport and safely deliver medicines and other medical supplies to customers as per the set dispatch procedures.
2) To receive, register supplies from stores into dispatch warehouse and arrange for their dispatch in accordance with NMS recommended ware house lay out.
3) To supervise the loading of supplies in line with the set departmental guidelines.
4) To ensure that mechanical faults are detected and reported and mileage forms filled in line with departmental guidelines. ,
5) To operate and park vehicles with maximum security tor the supplies and the vehicles in order to minimize losses and damage to NMS property while in transit.
6) To ensure that assigned vehicles are kept clean to the required standards.
7) To safely transport NMS staff and other official visitors to Kampala and from Entebbe

Required competencies:
• Able to read a map/route guide. \ Excellent knowledge of traffic laws.
• Requires knowledge of vehicle maintenance and operation
• Must have a positive and upbeat attitude, even in heavy traffic and unusual driving conditions.
• Must be hard working and self-motivated
• Must have excellent verbal and communication Skills.
• Meet or exceed minimum test results as specified by the hiring manager.
• Able to drive heavy trucks over a long distance
• Must have a valid driver's license

• A valid driving permit of class CH
