Our client, a global agricultural commodity trading house and supply chain manager is looking to recruit a:
The successful applicant will be responsible for all the financial reporting, financial statutory compliance of transactions and lead the planning and budgeting processes of the business within Uganda.
Specific Responsibilities:
Preparation and analysis of Financial Management Reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. This also entails management comments aimed at providing greater understanding and clarity in respect to the reports as well as highlighting key drivers of the business performance for the respective periods. You will ensure timely and accurate financial reporting which adhere to the Group reporting formats.
Reporting flash figures at the earliest possible time to enable the Directors have projections of performance before final accounts are transmitted (normally 6th/7th working day of the month).
Ensuring compliance with legal as well as Group minimal standards in all financial issues.
Preparation of detailed annual budgets in liaison with all the departments and comparing and analyzing variances on monthly basis.
Updating the 5 year plan annually.
Maintaining local banking relationships; monitoring cash flow forecasts and ensuring liquidity at acceptable costs.
Dealing with company taxation and secretarial matters; Ensuring most efficient and effective accounting treatments while adhering to the Financial accounting standards in place.
Management of year-end financial accounts.
Continual tight monitoring of all financial controls and compliance with policies. Particular emphasis must be placed on any outstanding or pre-finance advanced by the Group.
Supervision and motivation of sub-ordinate staff.
Requirement:
Knowledge and Education
Accounting/ Finance degree.
A professional qualification in accounting.
Knowledge of Quickbooks and Sun system is added advantage
At least 5 years in a senior accounting/financial role.
