About this Job:
The Uganda Human Rights Commission is an Institution established under the Provisions of Article 51 (I) of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, its legal mandate, functions and Powers are also enshrined in the UHRC Act of 1997.The main function of the Commission is to protect and promote Human Rights, Civic Obligations, Constitutionalism and respect for the rule of law.
The Commission would like to strengthen its human resources capacity by recruiting dynamic and self motivated individual to complement its current staff in the implementation of its mandate as a national Human Rights institution.
Applications are invited for filling the following position which will be based at the Commission Head Quarters The successful candidate will be appointed for a five year contract and is subject to a six months probation.
OFFICE SUPERVISOR (1 vacancy)

Salary Scale: HR-OS-6,Age: 25 years and above
Reports to: Director, Finance and Administration Main Purpose of the Job:
To supervise and facilitate cleaning of office environment, maintenance, provision of office utilities and consumables. Competencies required
Key Result Areas / Key Functions
Maintaining, office premises, furniture and equipment in good condition.
Coordinating the distribution and use of office equipment, furniture and Stationery.
Preparing and producing work plans and budgets pertaining his/her office.
Undertaking the follow up on payment of utility bills promptly.
Produce periodical reports on the maintenance and upkeep of Buildings utilized by Commission.
Assist the Stores Assistant in updating the Register of Assets utilizable in board of surveys.
Organizing venues for functions held in UHRC premises.
Maintaining office telephone directory.
Supervising lower identified staff including Office Assistants.
Maintaining conducive clean offices, buildings and work environment.
Identifying requirements of user departments or offices.
Keeping and maintaining inventory of issued office equipment and materials.
Coordinating Security of office premises, equipment and vehicles.
Working closely with the Stores Assistant to ensure the acquired office stores supplies are functional, distributed and utilized effectively and efficiently.
Ensuring the safety of Office buildings.
Requirement:
Qualifications required
Either a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least 5 passes including credits in Mathematics and English Language, plus a Diploma in Office Management from a recognized awarding Institution,
OR; Uganda Certificate of Education with at least five passes including credits in Mathematics and English Language
Experience
In both instances plus 3 (three) to 6 (six) years experience in similar work in a Public or Reputable private organization. Clean track records of testimonials from the previous employers are required in either case.
