Uganda Parliamentary Forum on Youth Affairs wishes to recruit a full time Accountant. The Accountant will, give support to the UPFYA secretariat to fulfill our overall goal. The overall goal of the forum is to influence government legislations, policies and programmes for youth empowerment

Reports To: Coordinator Terms of Reference:
This is a full time position which comes with marching benefits. The person in this position will offer direct assistance to UPFYA.
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Coordinator, the Accountant will work closely with all staff members in offering support to all program activities, in all departments as well as other duties that may be allocated to him/her from time to time. These include but not limited to the following:
Handling all cash requisitions and payments
Preparing payment vouchers and effecting all the approved payments
Updating and balancing all the financial records
Preparing and submitting financial reports to donors
Preparing all financial reports to the executive
Work with the coordinator in preparing the organisation’s budget.
Drawing cash from banks and collecting bank statements.
Resolving accounting discrepancies.
Recommend, develop and maintain financial data bases, computer software systems and manual filing system.
Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports for the organisations automated financial systems.
Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits.
Requirement:
Qualifications
A degree or Diploma in Business administration, Accounting, or any other relevant degree.
Working experience of at least (2) two years in a busy environment.
Terms of Employment
On contract basis for two years with an initial probation period of three months.
