Malaria Consortium is an international organisation working primarily in Africa and Asia on communicable disease control. Malaria Consortium works closely with Ministries of Health, academic institutions and a range of partners, and is involved in all aspects of malaria control from policy and strategy development to implementation, monitoring and evaluation and operational research. Malaria Consortium also works on the control of other communicable diseases, including tuberculosis, diarrhoea and neglected tropical diseases.
Requirement:
Qualifications: Essential
♦ Masters in Health Economics, Economics, Health Services Research or an MPH
♦ A minimum of three years working experience in developing countries and a good knowledge of decentralized health systems
♦ Previous experience of primary cost data collection
♦ Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a larger team. Excellent analytical (use of excel at a minimum) and report writing skills are essential.
♦ Excellent writing, communication, computer and mentoring skills.
Desirable
♦ Specific training and experience in costing or economic evaluation.
♦ Specific training and experience in costing or economic evaluation
♦ Ability to provide technical information in regards to health economics to the Malaria Consortium team and other stakeholders.
♦ Good analytical, negotiating and advocacy skills.
♦ Familiar with health financing and budgeting processes
♦ Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
♦ Computer skills, including internet navigation and various office applications.

♦ Flexibility and adaptability
♦ Ability to travel within Uganda and outside for work. Commitment to community action for child survival programmes
♦ Ability to work as part of a team and meet reporting deadlines
