Project Overview
Water and Sanitation programme for Karamojong agro-pastoralist communities in Kaabong District. The project has three key objectives: community-based rehabilitation of water points, promote hygiene behaviour change, and to enhance community ability to withstand disasters through improved livelihoods. Funding is secured until September 2009, but Medair will operate longer in the area.
Responsibilities
* To manage the support team in Kaabong base: overseeing all logistics, administration and finance; to contribute to the general management of the team, working closely with the Programme Manager and WatSan Manager.
Qualifications
* Degree or diploma in management/administration
Experience
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong administrative skills, attention to detail, organized and flexible
* Demonstrated ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
Medair standard working requirements for the field
* Minimum 12 months professional experience in a relevant field
* Minimum 3 months overseas work experience
* Minimum time commitment of 1 year
* Strong adherence to Medair values
* Strong English communication skills (oral and written)
* Familiar with Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
* Able to live and work with a multicultural team under difficult conditions
* Strong character traits, including emotional stability, adaptability, ability to handle stress, cultural and gender sensitivity, honesty
* Single or married - without children, no dependent children
* Successful completion of Medair Relief/Rehabilitation Orientation Course (ROC)
