Program Manager

The American Bar Association is seeking a qualified and dynamic Project Manager to oversee its program “Enhancing Local Capacity to Combat Human Trafficking in Uganda”. The Project Manager will work in collaboration with Ugandan stakeholders, international experts, and the Washington, DC office to implement this program over the course of one year.
Responsibilities
The Project Manager will be responsible for (1); overseeing the implementation of the program in-country, including financial and staff oversight; (2) creating and maintaining partnerships with high level government officials, judicial sector officials, and civil society representatives; (3) organizing working-group meetings that focus on enhancing coordination between civil society and justice sector actors on the issue of trafficking in persons; (4) assisting partners in producing protocols and other official mechanisms that clarify institutional procedures for addressing cases of trafficking in persons; (4) garnering political support for these written protocol documents in order to be adopted nationally; (5) conducting trainings (and training of trainers) on trafficking in persons; and (6) writing regular reports on program implementation and maintaining good communication with ABA headquarters in Washington, DC.
Requirements:
ABA ROLI is seeking candidates with a graduate or law degree and at least 7 years of relevant experience and a background in anti-human trafficking programs. Preference will be given to candidates with established connections with Ugandan governmental and justice sector actors. Previous experience in implementing legal reform programs and/or facilitating working groups with diverse stakeholders is strongly preferred. Applicants should also have experience managing or working with donor-funded international legal assistance projects. Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
