Senior Reproductive Health Specialist Reports Job Vacancy: Futures Group International

Futures Group International is well known for its specialization in the design and implementation of public health and social programs for developing countries.

It works collaboratively with in-country counterparts to improve policies and programs that address population issues, reproductive health, HIV, infectious diseases, and maternal and child health.

In Tanzania, Futures Group implements Health Policy Initiative, a USAID supported project under Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) mechanism and focuses on building an enabling environment for the scale - up of Prevention, Care and Treatment of HIV/AIDS in Tanzania.

Futures Group seeks superior candidates to fill the following position.

Title: Senior Reproductive Health Specialist

Reports To: Country Director

Basic Function:

Key role will be to provide leadership to the implementation of interventions in the FP/RH.

Essential Job Functions:

Duties & Responsibilities

Provide technical direction for FP/RH, and oversee the design, implementation quality assurance and monitoring of the family planning policy and advocacy project.
Coordinate high level national FP/RH policy and advocacy efforts to strengthen repositioning of FP in Tanzania.
Interact with FP/RH technical persons and participate in USAID/GOT, public and professional functions and other stakeholder technical working groups/committees to maintain state-of-the-art technical assistance.
Provide leadership and inform GOT/USAID FP/RH programs in collaboration/liaison with key decision makers in the Ministry of health and President's Office, Population Planning Commission.
Provide information and technical leadership to GOT and donor partners essential to the revitalization of the FP program in Tanzania.
Provide strategic leadership in addressing FP/RH issues to the GOT and donor partners in FP/RH in order to increase resources for family planning services.
Maintain overall fiscal and administrative oversight for FP/RH technical activities and, supervise technical team leaders to ensure timely completion of work plan activities.
Qualification, knowledge and experience:

Have a minimum of Masters Degree in Social Sciences with emphasis in Population, Family Planning and Public Health with at least 5-7 years working experience in advocacy and policy formulation and implementation relating to FP/RH.
Demonstrated professional ability, initiative, and competence in organizing, controlling, directing and executing programmatic work.
Excellent interpersonal, communications, writing, presentation and organizational skills.
Integrity, commitment and respect for diversity.
High networking skills and ability to form and work with strategic alliances for high level advocacy in repositioning FP/RH.
Well grounded in strategic planning, project design and budgeting.
Knowledgeable in USAID reporting, budgeting systems and requirements will be additional advantage.
