Retrak began working with street children in Uganda
in 1996. It currently operates in Uganda, Ethiopia and Kenya and its'
mission is to enable street children in Africa to have a real
alternative to life on the street. The means by which we do this are
through resettlement, foster care and supported independent living. Our
success rate speaks for itself with only 9% of children helped to return
home in 2010 going back to life on the street.This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented individual to lead and manage a team of highly committed people working with street children. We are not necessarily seeking someone with previous experience in a similar role. This represents an opportunity to hire laterally those people with transferrable and valuable skills which they can bring to the organisation. Anyone with experience outside the street children / development sector that has attributes that can be demonstrably related to the Job Description is actively encouraged to apply. This may include individuals with a background in finance, management or youth work & social services . You would be joining the organisation at an exciting time as we look to make Retrak's services available to more street children across Africa.
