Responsibilities:
Reporting to Program Area Manager, the
Community Enterprise Development Coordinator will be in charge of the Enterprise Development portfolio at area level and will be responsible for development of entrepreneurial skills among
farmers and farmer institutions, through a
combination of enterprise development
approaches with a view of increasing the Farmer Institutions membership entry, growth and competitiveness in the business environment.
Duties and responsibilities
• Carrying out surveys to establish entrepreneurial needs;
• Identifying and recommending appropriate
entrepreneurship training needs for the farmers and farmer institutions in EADEN program areas;
• Review and develop training content, manuals and handbooks for use by the organization in building entrepreneurial capacity of the farmers and farmer institutions;
• Coordinating and training farmers as
entrepreneurs across the farmer institutions and program area.
• Facilitate farmer groups and farmer institutions development of savings and credit mechanisms
• Facilitate farmer groups and institutions in
development of mechanisms for collective
marketing
• Facilitate farmer groups and farmer institutions development of mechanisms for collective buying of farm inputs
• Reviewing and advising on the enterprise
development strategy within farmer groups and farmer institutions
• Identifying strategic players to collaborate with the organization in development and piloting of new strategies as well as provide continuous mentoring to the upcoming farmers and farmer institutions
• Strengthen and build solidarity amongst Farmer institutions and farmer groups
• Build communities' knowledge and right
awareness on causes and impacts of climate
change Support community transition to
sustainable agriculture through alternatives,
decentralization and resilience
• Ensuring greater control in the hands of food
producers through monitoring rights violations and organizing to claim access and control over resources.
Requirement: Minimum Qualification
• Must have a first degree in either Education (business related subjects), Entrepreneurship, business administration , Adult and Community Education, Commerce or a business related field
• Must have experience in Enterprise Development training
• Practical knowledge of training/enterprise needs assessment
• Must have experience in enterprise development, collective marketing, savings and credit
• At least one years experience in training on micro and small business management
• Strong facilitation skills
• Very strong administrative and management skills and knowledge
• Knowledge of financial services industry will be an added advantage

• Experience with donor funded project accounts.
• Experience with Savings and Loan Associations
• Experience of organising farmer groups for collective marketing
• Ability to ride a Motorcycle with a valid driving permit These positions call for people with good interpersonal and communications skills , self driven and able to work with minimum supervision, build rural women's critical consciousness through right to food, income and gender analysis.
