Insight Collaborative seeks a
Program Director to oversee the Insight Peace Education Project (IPEP)
in Uganda. The ideal candidate will have experience in post-conflict
societies in the areas of conflict resolution, education development,
and fundraising. This position reports to the CEO and President of
Insight Collaborative and will be based in Gulu, Uganda. www.insightcollaborative.org.

Responsibilities: The Program Director will provide overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational and financial in-country management of the Insight Peace Education Project (IPEP) in line with Insight Collaborative’s vision and objectives. The Program Director will run and develop all in-country activities through analysis of the country context, needs assessments and appropriate responses. Specific duties include:
• Facilitate trainings and workshops • Supervise school/classroom implementation • Provide teacher support and coaching • Oversee budget preparation and management • Develop new activities based on researched and documented identified needs • Establish systems and standards for assessment and monitoring/evaluation • Represent IPEP to Local and National Authorities, international donors and (I)NGOs • Carry out fundraising activities to generate funds (research; grant application; donor relations/communication) • Promote public communications through maintenance of website, blog and newsletters
Required: • Bachelor’s Degree • Demonstrated capacity to partner with local government, businesses, educational institutions and NGOs • Passion for improving the quality of education available to Ugandan youth • Excellent writing and analytical skills • 1 year experience in successful fundraising and development • Knowledge of basic website maintenance • Fluent in written and spoken English
Preferred: • Master’s Degree in related field • Training or professional experience in conflict resolution, nonprofit monitoring and impact analysis • Previous international project management experience in Africa • Previous experience living in a post-conflict society • Experience managing a small staff
